Valley Home Dining is a boutique caterer and personal chef service for the Hudson Valley region of New York. Valley Home Dining caters a range of events, provides fully-cooked meals for families with reheat instructions, offers easy to assemble kits with prepping options and other personal chef and freelance services.
Amy Tung, Chef/Owner, is an Ithaca College Graduate with a B.S. in Business Management and a minor in Music. She lived in NYC for 13 years where she worked for a small financial business. Dining became one of her favorite pastimes in the city. Amy studied Culinary Arts at The Institute of Culinary Education (ICE) and The Natural Gourmet Institute.
Amy’s love for cooking began with her mother, a Hakka Taiwanese and great home cook. Along with numerous life lessons, she taught Amy Asian family-styled cooking. And because her father worked internationally, Amy grew up visiting several countries where she grew fond of various cuisines and cultures.
During her studies at ICE, Amy volunteered at the James Beard Foundation and assisted guest chefs. After relocating back to her hometown of New Paltz, she cooked breakfast and lunch at The Village Tea Room & Restaurant. She continues working on their catering team as a freelance chef for weddings and events.
In 2013, Amy formed Valley Home Dining (VHD). VHD has provided home delivery service to families, catered for small businesses, wedding showers, rehearsal dinners, luncheons and other private events.
Valley Home Dining is a member at One Epic Place, The Gardiner Association of Businesses and of The New Paltz Regional Chamber of Commerce.
Valley Home Dining strives to cook with locally sourced, non-GMO and/or organic ingredients.
